I'm not sure that the indie/alernative label fits for either MMJ or TWOD, the former for me is a classic southern rock band, latter just a classic rock band.

Also, it's such a wide label to put...

They really mix it up with fast and slow paced songs but even if you were looking just for the melancholy slow burn ones there are plenty of those there...
