Listen to "Ascension" and "Meditations" first instead, since you are into free jazz. Who knows, you might like Om, they incorporate the world music element very well within the free jazz.

I wouldn't start with Om, that piece can be a bit hard to get into if you're not accustomed to free jazz or world music. A Love Supreme, Sun Ship, and Impressions are three good albums to start with....
