For some lead singers their voice is their instrument, it seems to me your problem is with the mainstream music...

For me it's the 80's to the beginning of the 90's...

For me it's the 80's to the beginning of the 90's

That's when bands like The Pixies, Pavement and Sonic youth started, oh, Kas product too, i didn't know know them back then but that was their era.
