Nice topic. I like hearing albums in order when I am listening to an album. I do occasionally hit shuffle for my whole collection, which can be entertaining as well as annoying, usually when a song...

I am going to say Jack White specifically. I say that because he is putting out relatively diverse stuff beyond the White Stripes with his other bands and his solo work. I also think his ventures...

Good Luck... I can think of quite a few without even ranking them, but ones you'd have to consider:

Lennon,
McCartney,
Harrison,
Peter Gabriel,
Paul Simon,
Sting,
Robert Plant,

I like her music, not as much as I like others, but she is like a happy Fiona Apple, and while I think Fiona Apple is fantastic, she can be a bit depressing to listen to too much.
