Default Grind me down

you call me hung over
is it always the same
I'm here to earn money
not to play your game.

Sidelines are fine when don't you need sleep.
Just trying to escape the life of a sheep.

Tell me something ....do you ever reflect
on your current attitude and it's negative effect?

Back home again in a delay
maybe it's too late as I feel the decay
It aint the answer but it sure fills the void
it smells off my clothes and so people are annoyed

twilight hours are all I've got to myself
no time to read what is on my bookshelf.
sister asks but what if you die?
I tell her I sell and never buy

Morning sloth and more of the same
someones elses dream and me taking the blame
Two more years I give them all
I then must fly away or hit the wall.

Do you like that?

Well to each their own, but it personally doesn't do it for me, sorry. It just lacks substance, emotion. Concentrates too much on a rhyme (rhyme and flow are different), and not enough on a good story, IMO.

Default ADELE's Songwriting Journal

Me they can Kill
you they own
have they ever spread joy?
Have they ever grown?

They come between us
maybe for a while
trying to keep you away
still you smile

you smile
you smile ooohh ooooh you still smile.

Tell me something
is that what you need?
A crowd of cowards
with envy and greed

Babe they own you
Till you listen to me
They have never
felt happy and they will never be free

trying to grab a life
Never meant for them
Kick a man when he's down
Then call themselves men.

Remember this baby
I'm down but not out
God help them all
When I put the word out

Me they can kill but you they own
Frightened of how much we really have grown
Noone can stop me and now I know ALL
word to the wise ....keep away or you'll crawl.

Me they can kill but you they still own
Filling your head so your hear their moan
I am not them and never will be
Baby they're trapped but I am still free

Not long now I have a big goal
You and me with the god given soul
hope you like it.
It is a song of anger but positive nonetheless and sounds good with music.
I dediacte it to Sam.

Very good.

I would like to have a bette rpost and maybe give you some pointers but I am not much in the way of lyrisizing. And you probably would have done anything i could tell you.

I look forward to another.

"trying to grab a life
Never meant for them
Kick a man when he's down
Then call themselves men."
That parts good.

cheers man.
I got great inspiration from reading Papillon. Such a great story of hope and spirit.
Not that I have ever been inside but one thing I have experienced in my life is a great begrudging of many people who seem to want to stand in other people's way, run them down, yet never do anything themselves just snoop and bad mouth those out on a limb.
Snipers is what they are I suppose.
My thinking is that they want the same things just that they don't have the backbone to get those things.
In my opinion if you don't have the backbone you shouldn't snipe but that is life.
I once had and experience where someone tried to make a fool of me simply because he was a moron. I wouldn't let it drop and people were like "leave it be" but to my mind at that very point he decided to, or not to, try to make a fool of me, he made the choice to bring problems to my life to get a kick for himself.
All I then wanted was a complete apology or explanation and all I got was excuses and lies and cowardly actions and the more I dug the more cowardly the actions were.
That was my feeling about that song.
Because I feel great pity for those who are weaker them myself who get bullied by those types and can never respond like I am able to.
It was also about my woman and how her family don't like me at all.

I did.
But I was thinking of people like that as I wrote.
I also write upbeat stuff.
I'll post one after I have sorted out a few things and walked the dog.

One question... how much do you write? Is it several pieces a day or are you posting older stuff all at once?

I write when I feel like it like I do everything I feel like when I feel like it.
Why?

Punk and Cliff Richard in the same paragraph is just plain wrong.
