Thee Lakesiders - Parachute

I've probably listened to this song 30+ times over the past couple of weeks, after I first stumbled upon it, and I'm still hooked on it. Might have to pick up a copy of the single and add it to my collection of 45's.

Not a Christmas type soul song but it just popped into my mind for some reason...

Dionne Warwick - Walk on By

Lived in my head for years. Even more than the Isaac Hayes version, which I love.

Cry Now, Laugh Later Grace Jones

Grace’s Sly & Robbie backed Compass Point Sessions album is my favorite of her releases. I just wish the 2 cd set had more instrumentals. Sly & Robbie were her best producers. Think she knows it. Best thing about her last album (2008) Hurricane. Wonder if she’ll ever drop another.

Speaking of unforgettable songs and Grace Jones... She covered "Warm Leatherette" by 'The Normal' on her album titled 'Warm Leatherette'. I heard her version first and then the original and the song stuck in my mind to the point that I just had to go out and buy a copy of the original single as well as her album by the same name. Still have both of them and that song is still stuck in my mind.
