Bill Russell

Passed away yesterday at the age of 88. R.I.P. to one of the greats and a legendary member of the Boston Celtics.

Boston Celtics fan here..Larry Bird made me a fan when I started watching basketball..
My favorite Celtics though are from the 50's, 60's, 70's.. Bill Russell, Bob Cousy, Tom Heinsohn, Sam Jones, John Havlicek. Russell won 11 championships in 13 years...and from what I've read could've easily won in all 13 years..He was hurt in the '58 Finals for instance and missed 2 games in that series against the Hawks. I think he's the GOAT personally. No one or team will ever come close to what the Celtics did in the 60's.

Another basketball pioneer just passed away from Bill Russell's era.. Gene Shue played in the 50's and early 60's and was a great shooting guard. Was also a great coach in the 70's.
