Lakers fan here. Losing Dwight Howard to the Rockets is something I can live with. Granting amnesty to Metta World Peace ruined my day yesterday. I will forever miss his post-game interviews.

Howard is just as good as he was. His talent just got overshadowed by him being an idiot for the last 2 years. i am hoping in houston he can get back to being more focused. Houstons teams is also a lot easier for him in terms of style. i cant imagine trying to thrive while playing with kobe. It has to be frustrating as hell sometimes which is why i have nothin but love for Gasol.

LOVE what golden state is doing too. man, the west coast is just loading up.

Don't forget that Howard was injured last season and was still recovering throughout the season while having to deal with a completely new team struggling with injuries, team chemistry and coaching.

Howard is still one of the, if not the, best center in terms of defense and offense the league has to offer right now. The Lakers didn't play much post offense, which is his primary offensive option and he still managed to average 18/12 with a FG% of about .60.
So yeah, if he manages to get along with Asik and integrate well in the team, the Houstons will be a real threat with Harden, Parsons and Howard.
They were already one of the best scoring teams in the league - Now that they have one of the best defensive centers as defensive anchor with Dwight Howard who also provides them with endless possibilities in the paint, they could really be a dangerous opponent in the Play-Offs.

i do hate dwight but he is the best center in the game despite his down year. the lakers were gonna be a ****show from the beginning last yr. pieces that dont compliment each other and not hiring phil was just stupid. why would you want gasol shooting jumpers?? hes one of the most skilled bigs in the game in the post.

i still think rockets are trading asik. i think they are tryin to raise his value by saying they wont but they are payin a ton of money to him as a backup. and i love asik and feel bad for him because he deserves to start but him and dwight on the court together doesnt work.

Well, if they keep Asik, they would be an unbeatable stronghold on the pivot.
If they trade him, they would have about 9 million dollars more to spend, which would also make more imporvements possible. It is tough a little bit Overkill to have a 9 million dollar backup for one of the most wanted centers of the world.
I don't think that the Rockets can do much wrong in the off season in their current position.

true and at this point theres nothin they can trade for that can help them this season. i woulda been shoppin asik the second dwight signed. maybe they were in private. imagine josh smith in that lineup instead of asik and its incredible.

its really hard to make 2 big men work though. im interested to see how houston plays dwight and asik together.

Miami only has the Bulls to Worry about.

Even that though is hazy at best. Not only are the Heat an amazingly deep team but they are coached brilliantly and have Pat Riley helping with all the decisions. People underestimate that guy, he is right up there with Phil Jackson in my book.
