The fact that the BBC spent half-time commenting on the plot of The Third Man just goes to show how interesting this match as been so far...

Spain wins despite Italy missing 3 of our best players. They must feel real accomplished beating an already handicapped team.....This stinks
Oh well, were still the reigning world cup champions, that's the only bright spot.

To be honest, the Italians played a stinker and fully deserved to go out. And squad-wise Spain are just as good if not stronger.

Exactly, I know that Italy plays a very strong defensive style, and it has served them well in many tournaments, but I'll allways cheer for the teams that play attacking football. I hope the remaining games are more like Germany/Portugal, that's the best game I've seen Ballack play since he signed with Chelsea 2 years ago. Finals...Germany vs Russia...(Almost half of Turkey's starters are missing, and the Russian's they are just peaking at the right time.)

Handicapped team

Pirlo and Gattuso were suspended. Maybe if they'd not cheated so much in the earlier rounds you would have had a full strength team.
