Difference between Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson. One plays hurt and the other whines when he gets a hangnail. Buyers beware (including the Ravens apparently)

Remember when RGIII played on a bad leg and ruined his career and chance at a new contract worth 100 million dollars?

Maybe, I guess I should feel sorry for someone who just made $23 million this past year

I don't think Lamar is asking anybody to feel sorry for him.

It's a business decision regardless of whether they have made millions or not. The publics view of football players is so skewed because they "play a game". If you had a job based on renewable contracts worth millions that basically end by the time you're in your early 30's, you're going to do everything you can to maximize those few contracts whether you're a football player or an independent contractor.

I get what you're saying, Exo, but if you're a really successful football player, like Peyton Manning for example, you can find a second career. They're always looking for retired athletes as sports commentators while others go into coaching for example, so a high priced athlete doesn't have to end up on the breadline upon retirement. Anyway, these football players, or at least the most expensive ones, make more money in a year than we'll ever see in a lifetime. Lamar could have handled the negotiations a lot better and not turn it into a soap opera.

I'm just specifically speaking on whether or not he should be out there playing on a really bad sprained PCL. That's torn ligaments.
