Waterweight is good. Your muscles draw more water to them while working out, it is part of the reason creatine is so effective.

Also I have never heard of it causing sleep problems? Maybe you were taking something else or a bad brand?

creatine and insominia - Bodybuilding.com Forums

Whether or not creatine actually does cause insomnia, I don't know, but I've known a few people to complain about it. I also found that unless I was taking in water regularly, I felt lethargic during the daytime.

As for a bad brand, I buy everything from myprotein.com so I doubt it. But I changed to creapure cos it's a purer form and it's been fine.

I wouldn't say there is a definitive answer to this question tbh cos I don't believe there is any such thing as a good or bad BMI. BMI is a poor way to measure something as bodybuilders have high BMI's as do a lot of Rugby players but they'd be considered overweight according to BMI which is daft.

It doesn't account for muscle mass or fat. You're just overweight, underweight or normal.

I just put this guy's (British sprinter Harry Aikines-Aryeetey) measurements into a BMI calculator and got a result of 29.1 which is on the cusp of obesity - http://img.metro.co.uk/i/pix/2011/08...58_304x456.jpg

A better way to assess a good or bad weight is to combine it with body fat percentage tbh. A lot of people don't care about losing valuable muscle mass when losing 'weight', they just want to see the numbers on the scales come down.

But of course if you're out of shape and have a high body fat percentage you'll be unfit and it'll be harder to lift weights.

Realistically, you probably will be. And if it's under a certain number you're probably underweight (and if it's over you're probably fat etc), but it's not reliable.

Unless you have some rare disorder or condition making it unsafe physically to lift weights then it is always beneficial. its like any exsersize, it is never a bad thing for you to do.

Women are generally ****ing hopeless when it comes to fitness. Fat is like kryptonite to them yet they wolf down pasta, rice, orange juice & fruit thinking it's 'healthy'... measuring gains in days and weeks instead of months and years...

Losing 'weight'
Getting 'toned'

& I just read something one posted about fretting over calories and I just thought Jesus ****ing wept.

Sexist post but most are clueless, I had to rant tbh cos it's doing my nut in. Pretty much all of my female friends and my sister is like this.

Agreed, but I think a lot of that is not their fault. Same with most people...the health industry is so full of misleading bull**** and horrid advertisments with fake information and claims. Although today we have the internet so I think the people who chose not to find out information that is free online are just lazy and going to the gym for the ego boost.

Yeah man, but I've noticed it more with women, weight lifting and the culture of it is dominated by males so we are more likely to have a friend who hammered the gym before we started who can correct us and is in the know, women generally get their info from the bullshit that's printed in the media they read (cos I know me and my mates aren't reading Heat magazine or looking at Kim K's new diet) and other celebrity endorsed shite.
