I've really enjoyed the snowboarding and I've had the curling and the speed skating on a splitscreen today. As usual, the Olympics make sports I wouldnt normally be watching fun.

Dammit! I missed the Mens Downhill yesterday. Crap.

At least I can still catch the Womens DH, and Super G. Too bad Lindsay Vonn is out.

For the Canadians:

Anyone else confused with the line combinations a bit?

Kunitz-Crosby-Carter
Sharp-Toews-Nash
Marleau-Getzlaf-Perry
Benn-Tavares-Bergeron
St. Louis-Duchene

Can't say I'm loving Carter on the top line but I can deal with it with Stamkos out.

Bottom six is just weird to me though. Why bring Bergeron if you aren't going to use him at center? They obviously like his defensive game and faceoff ability or else they wouldn't have taken him. All they're doing by putting him on the wing is offsetting those qualities. And to put him with Tavares, who isn't the strongest defensively or the best faceoff guy, along with playing a game that translates very well to the wing and having success playing the wing internationally before, doesn't make sense to me. I'd also like to see Marleau in more of a checking role.

If it were up to me (and Kunitz has to play...):

Kunitz-Crosby-Carter
Tavares-Getzlaf-Perry
Sharp-Toews-Nash
Marleau-Bergeron-Benn
Duchene
St. Louis

The D pairs they were going with in practice were perfect.

I would at least switch Tavares and Bergeron, maybe move Bergeron to the 3rd line with Marleau, and move Getzlaf to the second line.

Getzlaf and Perry are locks to play together though. I basically figured those would be the lines...my only changes would be to put Bergeron in the middle. He's there for his lockdown style of play..and thats a centerman's job.

Crazy to think that the Maple Leafs have better 1st line wingers than Team Canada..

That's a ridiculous statement.

So apparently this is the American lineup, at least during practice:

Forwards:

James van Riemsdyk - Joe Pavelski - Phil Kessel
Zach Parise - David Backes - T.J. Oshie
Patrick Kane - Ryan Kesler - Dustin Brown
Max Pacioretty - Paul Stastny - Ryan Callahan
Derek Stepan
Blake Wheeler

Defense:

Cam Fowler - Ryan Suter
Ryan McDonagh - John Carlson
Kevin Shattenkirk - Paul Martin
Brooks Orpik - Justin Faulk
