In all seriousness though, I can't really think of anyone who's on par with him. Rooney and Ronaldo come close, but that Messi lad's in a league of his own.

My Inter squad has got a tough job ahead of them for sure, and their confidence can't be too high after seeing a great Arsenal squad get their dicks stomped. Gotta have faith than Milito and Co get the job done later this month, should be a heck of a series.

I didnt see all of the Arsenal Barca game last night but i was watching it long enough to see Messi's hat trick. He has to be the best player in the world. His finish for his third was incredible.

Skies are alot clearer now as a Sunderland fan. We got a good little run of form going, picked up enough points to stay up now surely including a great result against Spurs and even though i dont think it's going to happen it's good to see Bruce eye-ing up a top half finish and looking forward rather than over his shoulder.

Inter stand a chance I reckon. Slightly harder to pick one out of them and Barca as, like I said earlier in the thread, Arsenal have had a habit of rolling over against top-quality opposition this season (Chelsea and Man U home and away for example).

Best of luck to them too. Zenden's goal on Saturday was one of the best I've seen this season - can see Brucey & co making a push up the table from now.

As for Wigan, they'll stay up. Pisses me off how much the press are making of their being being where they are though - Burnley are as good as gone, and we're in as much danger of filling in that last spot as three other teams for chrissakes. If, as I've been told, we're four points from safety, I can definitely see us getting that many points with a game or two to spare.

Mathematically you're very much stll in it but yeah, you lot should be fine. I know Hull have a game in hand to make it even tighter down there but i just cant see Hull or Burnley getting out of the bottom three and if they do, West Ham are in more immediate danger than Wigan.

Zendens finish was awesome yeah. We haven't gotten many really flashy goals like that this season, or since we got promoted really so it was nice to see. The last couple of seasons, this one especally have been really frustrating at times. We've done well to stay up, which is the main priority. But we show promise yet have no consistency.

We took a point at Old Trafford (missed out on all 3 by a matter of seconds), a point at Villa Park, beat Liverpool and Arsenal at home, missed out on all 3 against Man City by seconds as well at home as well narrowly missing out on getting something at Eastlands. When you score 3 goals away from home, you dont expect to get beat 4-3 but it was a strong performance.

We've had some good results this season and showed alot of promise that as we strengthen the squad and continue to improve we can maybe have some success over the next couple of seasons but 14 game winless streaks are the other end of our spectrum. You cant do that in the Premiership.

Not sure if Hull will actually get out of trouble, but their performances have definitely improved under Dowie, and I think they'll at least make things a bit awkward at the foot of the table for the Hammers, my lot, Bolton and Wolves. Results haven't gone their way though, so I doubt they'll pull out of it. Should be an interesting dogfight though (as per norm).

This video was cobbled together my those legends on the TalkSportMagazine channel, was posted back in November, and kinda reflects how things have gone at the KC nicely...

And I can see Sunderland doing well next season. They're like Wigan in that they seem to have been a team intransition this term. I think come the summer both Brucey and Martinez will have a better idea of what kinds of players suit their systems best, get the right ones in, ship out the dead wood and make things a bit easier and more interesting for us next season.

Even if Wigan somehow go down though, as long as it prompts us to get rid of Paul Scharner, aka the Inspector Clouseau of Premiership football, I'll be a happy fella.

Can't say I'm optimistic about tonight's match.
I really didn't buy the "United will miss Rooney" brigade, but after the last two games...I'm not so sure.
I'll be a lot happier if the Reds field two forwards instead of Berbatov on his own.

In my dreams; United scrape through to the semi's, which are a formality against either of the French clubs to meet Barcelona in the final for a repeat of last year.
Only this time, United win convincingly with a world class performance from Rooney, eclipsing Messi.
United are crowned Champions of Europe for the second time in three years and Rooney is named European Footballer of the Year.

What?
