I have a friend who's from England that's a big Liverpool fan. I've enjoyed watching soccer (sorry if this triggers anyone) in the World Cup and stuff so I asked him if I could come over during some of their matches and have him teach me the players and storylines and whatnot. We watched the Liverpool vs Chelsea match this past weekend and I had a blast, plus it had a very exciting ending

Cool stuff. Sports are great

Nice post. Welcome to the TopLads thread.

Sturridge is great and the goal was ridiculous. He is just always injured, I hope he can finally stay fit now and maybe get back into the England squad.

Liverpool vs Man City on Sunday, 4:30pm UK time so just before midday for you I think. That will be very good. I would like Liverpool to win and go on to win the title as I backed them and I like what they're doing.

If you are going to pick a team to follow try not to pick one of the same six teams.

Regards,
Fluff

What did you mean by this? That I shouldn’t follow one of the top teams? I was definitely going to stick with rooting for Liverpool for no reason other than the fact that my friend loves them and it’s fun to root for the same team together with a friend

Yes. Pick who you want obviously and ignore my footballing politics.

Why do the British embrace such a cringy concept as "lads"? As far as I can tell it's their version of Southern "good ol' boys", and only good ol' boys think they're not *******s.

Lad means a young male. Female equivalent is lass. The latter is more northern.

Nothing wrong with the working class and you are wrong anyway (the Nandos lads are often middle class for example).
