My deepest sympathies to everyone suffering from shin splints.

So painful.

That "Couch to 5k" app is hilarious. I like the drill instructor best though the zombie is a close second. Great app if you just want to time your run and get encouragement. Ever tried "Run zombies run"? Fun app. Like a game.

Santa run here in Stockholm on Sunday. Fun run 3K (or walk) and you get to dress like Santa and run through old town . No snow but still fun.

I’ve got it, thank you! I’m going to do each week twice once I get some good shoes because I think the impact was just too much too quickly.

Oh god I know, I couldn’t even walk properly for a while it was so sore. I only get it in one leg though which I think is weird.

That is weird, maybe you have one leg shorter than the other or something. When I first had it I didn't know what it was and tried running it off. It lasted about three weeks.

However I can play football and cover lots of ground and not have a problem, it can't be the surface either cos I've ran on grass and still had shin splints. Must be technique and I've used a different one for football, more movement and shorter bursts or whatever.

I broke my ankle on the leg I get it so think it might have something to do with that.

Yeah I’m the same, at college I was playing loads of sport and never had an issue so must be something to do with running in shorter bursts.

Yeah, interval training [switching between running, jogging, sprinting, etc.] is a good way to build up cardio.
