I'm very glad I found this thread. I got some money for Christmas, and was hoping to buy a good pair of headphones finally, and everyone seems so enamored with the Sennheiser 280s that I htink that's what I'm going to get. Hopefully tomorrow in fact. They should be a hell of an upgrade over my $15 earbuds.

i had them man.. and really disliked them.. absoolutely NO BASS.. if you are looking for bass you're going to be in for a surprize. Also the size of them is a bit overwhelming. I returned them and now trying the 212's. They are extremely light and have a very good bass responce. I think they are a really good pair for almost anything. On a couple of the songs i listen too you can hear a bit distortion, but i think that is because I have mine equalized for bass 100%. My friend just got a pair of Senn 555's and wont shut up about how great they are. So those 2 pairs if you have the chance to try out I would, this assuming you want some amount of bass. If bass is not an issue then 280's will do exactly what you want. The sound quality is unreal, but lacking bass. |
