There's a whole new horizon coming on with headphone technology.

I'm caught between wanting good sound but being reluctant to put much money on the table.

Not sure what I should get.

So I can't remember if I've mentioned it, but I've been using these for strictly PC gaming and they are fantastic

https://www.amazon.com/SteelSeries-L...+artic+7&psc=1

It's so free'ing using wireless headphones when you game because you're not being held down by a cord. It's nice to be able to walk around and not have to take them off. Highly recommended if you're looking for a really nice and comfortable wireless headset for PC.

If you want good sound quality don't get headset or wireless.

Having a device do multiple things is an excuse to:

a. Make it cost more

b. Allow it to be bad at one of those things

Here is a headphone recommendation thingy made by the headphones subreddit

https://sites.google.com/view/headphoneadvice/home

This should give you ideas that you can then further research.

If you want a better soundstage open back is the way to go. These generally aren't the best while in public, there you'd want closed back or IEM.

Headphone jack on my phone is ****ed up (biggest LG V20 flaw, basically love everything else about my phone), so I opted for some bluetooth headphones. There's nothing more aggravating than a ****ed up headphones jack, man. It'll be a bit of a learning curve remembering to charge them, but they have good sound, they have the ergonomic fit that I like, and the freed up cord was more liberating than I expected. Little pricy for these but I'd recommend it. Will report back when they **** out--life in Frownland's pockets ain't easy.

I kinda want to upgrade my HD600s to HD800 but I lack money.

I should set up a gofundme.

Bought these yesterday. Not very pricey at all, but they're a step up from my previous pair for sure.

JBL T500, I think. On-ear. More bass and detail than my previous pair, plus they close tighter around the ears so they close more sound out.
My pair is wired.

I use the Sennheiser Urbanite on-ears; decent sound, but not the best value. Bought them a few months ago when I didn't know much about audio. Now I have my eyes set on Beyerdynamic's 250 ohm DT 880.

I'll probably give the Urbanites to a family member -- they're just too uncomfortable. Also V-shaped, which isn't the sort of sound signature I like best.
