I want to learn, and currently trying, to get a grasp on the double bass. And jesus christ is this hard. Especially the bowing (I can do a decent pizzicato). I'm no stranger to a bow, but goddamn.

I think the E string is going to be the death of me.

I've been teaching myself piano / keyboard so as to add some nice and different flavor to my music. I can play guitar, french horn, and percussion - but piano is so different. I tried once before, and couldn't do anything. Now, with guitar knowledge, chords aren't as foreign to me. I just need to get the hang of the movement of hands.

The oud is something I would really like to be able to play. Being that I'm mainly a guitar player I'm pretty used to fretted instruments, so it will be a challenge. Also, the idea of using microtonal scales seems like it would be able to break up the monotony of playing a guitar that's only cable of using the chromatic scale.

The tanpura also seems like a great instrument to have and play. I don't plan on taking it to bonfires or anything, that's pretty lame and poseurish. The prospect of being able to gently tap three stings for hours while I zone out seems kind of relaxing.

The harmonium is probably the only keyboard instrument I'd ever learn and again, it seems like an interesting and unusual instrument to have and play. Being similar to accordion as it uses air to pass through the free-reeds resulting in sound.

I've played the guitar back in high-school. Really enjoyed it, but I had to go to college, so my music career ended pretty steeply

Have tried to play it this year again, I need to re-learn most of the stuff though.

Would just like to update everybody that through music education, I am learning to play trumpet and clarinet. Also, I am in private lessons on cello, piano, and percussion. Percussion, however, I've been playing since 2003.

I've played a trumpet in middle school.
But so far, I've stuck to piano but I only know a few songs.
I play for fun in a way, rather than serious with sheet music and stuff like that.

I've played guitar off and on for about thity years. I've recently taken up the trumpet. I also have more interest in taken additional brass and wind instruments. I guess a composer playes multi instruments in his/her head to get inspiration for the complete composition score.
