Just posting in this old thread to mention that I just found out that Book of Knots released a third album! Came out on Ipecac earlier this year. Apparently the theme of this album, after the land and sea themes of the first two, is air—songs about pilots, astronauts, that kind of thing.

I used to have Traineater, and listened to it quite a bit. Good album, not great. Honestly, I enjoy SGM significantly better.

For me, Traineater just feels like sort of an Art Bears rehash. Which is not a bad thing in anyway, just makes it feel like it's 30 years out of date. Plus, it's not as good as the mid-80s Cutler/Frith projects it's blatantly imitating.

Terence Hill, as recently confirmed during an interview to an Italian TV talk-show, was offered the role but rejected it because he considered it "too violent". Dustin Hoffman and John Travolta declined the role for the same reason. When Al Pacino was considered for the role of John Rambo, he turned it down when his request that Rambo be more of a madman was rejected.
Al Pacino = God

Traineater is good but their self-titled album is far better IMO. I'm not sure if you'd like it or not since the style is much more rootsy, but I love it. It would easily make my top ten of the 00s.
