With online media in full force, we have a surge of instructional material available at the click of a mouse.

Music instruction is no exception, and there are lots of benefits to choosing an online or digital download option. Singing, guitar, piano, drums - you name it, there's an online course for it; many of which include video and audio.

Some of the big advantages of online/digital instruction:
  • It's cost effective - for less than the cost of a month's worth a private lessons, you can have over a year's worth of targeted instruction
  • It's time saving - we're all very busy these days and it helps when you can learn and practice on your own time
  • Bonuses - there are a lot of great programs out there that are jam packed with learning software to help teach you music theory and ear training along with the technique of the chosen instrument
  • Instant Access - there are so many programs that offer you instant access to materials that you download to your computer, which gives you the benefit of learning right away
While online instruction is an incredible learning tool, be honest with yourself. Keep in mind you won't have a physical instructor to give you real time feedback. Whether you choose an online instruction method or a physical teacher, there are two important things you must consider:
  • The instructor or instruction method should be quality
  • You must hold yourself accountable to practice
One little side note to keep in mind; online programs may have a lot of printable materials for instruction and playing. This means you need to either be willing to print a lot, or read and practice directly from your computer. It's still cheaper than buying books.

Check out the Perform page for online programs for voice, piano, guitar, or drums.

If production is more your thing, try the Create page for music production, songwriting, or ear training.

Honestly I was about to go to school for music engineering so I can become a producer but the tuition was crazy. So my best friend showed me a website http://bit.ly/1QV6UBg it literally broke everything down for me. It was less costly and on your own time. I was just letting people know how I felt about it. It's best for making beats.
