Whats with these bands whos names are three random words? (genre, Inci)

Sleepytime Gorilla Museum
Crazy Backwards Alphabet
Screaming Headless Torsos
Neutral Milk Hotel

whats up with this? Is this some sort of new genre style or trend or is it just coincidental?

Seeing as how Dog Faced Hermans are an 80's band, I'm going to go ahead and say that it's not a new trend.

Also, "Crazy Backwards Alphabet" doesn't strike me as that random. Three words is just a pretty standard length for a band name, and lots of bands have random names. Some of them mean something to someone, and a lot of them were probably just picked because they sound cool.

Alot of these aren't really three random words, three random words would be something like Monkey Door Midnight. Most of those band names fit together.
