Software to organize music collection???

I have a family member who just died and he has a HUGE and overwhelming collection of CD's. He was a very active member of the Vanderbilt Library, so his collection is being donated to various locations to add to their music libraries. I am looking for software or an app that can help me scan CD titles and possibly give me an estimated value of the CD so we can keep track of them for tax purposes. Does this exist and can anyone point me in the right direction? Some albums are very obscure and rare. Thank you so much in advance for any help!
