I have given Sonic Flower Groove a couple of plays today. Definite West Coast jangle guitar in parts no doubt. Reminiscent of say The Byrds. Not so Stonsey so agree with you.

They disowned that album before it was even released.

I mean it's not THAT bad.

No it ain't. I played it before today and had no memory of being offended and when I played it twice today and thought it quite an OK album.

I checked it out and it's pretty interesting, I like the track Kill All Hippies the most, downloading Screamadelica right now.

I only have Screamadelica and really love. Especially "Loaded". I'm going to get XTRMNTR soon. Great band!

BUUUUURRRMMPP.

I've been on a major PS binge recently.

Screamadelica, Vanishing Point and XTRMNTR are incredible, 10/10s for me. Sonic Flower Groove is highly decent too. Yet, on the flip side, albums like Give Out but Don't Give Up, Evil Heat and Riot City Blues do absolutely nothing for me.

To me, they're inconsistent. But when they get it right, they're peerless.

I am not a massive PS fan but I massively appreciate them. Like yourself Stu I find them hit and miss but when they are on it, they are ON it and Loaded is a cliched choice but it is one of the greatest tracks ever put down even if it was remixed. It just worked on so many levels.

Swatstika Eyes is an amazing track but Higher Than The Sun has to go down as an absolute classic too.

Along with Kill All Hippies, Higher Than the Sun is probably my favourite PS song.

If it weren't for the godawful Give Out But Don't Give Up, they'd have had a flawless run of albums from Screamadelica through to Evil Heat in my books.

Vanishing Point's my favourite PS album by the narrowest of margins, but along with Screamadelica, Evil Heat and XTRMNTR, it's part of a quadrilogy I'd recommend to anyone.

Haven't they been working on a new album lately?
