it's all good, it's just how music grows and evolves (especially now that it's moved far beyond a solely auditory medium). people have been griping about scene kids ripping things off since the 70s.

You know what's also annoying? Kids who have no interested in anti-folk (most of who have never even heard the term anti-folk) who only know who the Moldy Peaches are because of Juno bitching about scene kids "stealing their scene" when they had no idea either. I mean for fucks sake you guys are bitching about this in the rock and metal forum it just shows you're no different.

This is why I hate music "scenes" in general.

Because when bands from that scene become popular, or other bands become influenced by that scene, the scenesters bitch and whine about it.

Those are pretty bold assumptions. Are you implying our ineptitude because the hipster stereotype's so inclusive? Or because no one randomly namedropped a squadrant of lesser-hailed anti-folk bands or referenced Beck and Lach or some sh*t?
Plaguerism is plaguerism. I really liked Juno, to be honest, and I never meant to vilify it. Kimya Dawson didn't "sell out", and as I already said, I'm glad she's getting an assload of financial security.
"Flavour of the week" status sucks; this commercial's a great testament to that.

WTF is wrong with people just because a band was in a movie and more people are into them they are no longer listenable ? That's stupid and chances are anyone who feels this way only listen to wierd obscure bands not because they actually LIKE them but because they think that it will make them a more interesting and give them chances to **** on people who don't know who they are talking about. Also your a **** for calling the moldy peaches a novelty act their a very good honest incredibly charming band, people like you annoy me more than straight edge kids and that is saying ALOT
