I will say in order (and I include Salford!)

Smiths
Oasis
Roses
Joy Division
Mondays
Buzz****s

But I am open to debate.
I will say that it is based on :
How many other bands they influenced.
Impact on UK and world music scene.
Creativity like skills, originality, charisma etc
What they did after demise or in other outfits.
Pure brilliance of stardom.
Critical aclaim.
I think my top 3 will stand the test of anyones arguement but lets try shall we.

Buzz****s. I saw them in Luton in this small hall and my brother tried to get there but couldn't make it and I sang ever fallen in love with the band. That was so brilliant.
I love harmony in my head, esp is brilliant too.
Punk is so positive when you think about it.
Like never mind the bollox.
It is like get up and do things positive.
I loved esp and ever fallen in love by the buzz****s.

Although similar themed arguments exist, this one can stay open for a while. Here we go. Flaming time. Stone Roses are so ridiculously over rated it defies belief. :D

but enough about me!
tell me this aint a bloody classic?

No amount of vids will make me change my mind. Everyone hates the second album but I like a good few tracks off it and tracks such as 'I Wanna Be Adored' and 'Fools Gold' are great but the notion that the debut was a stonewall classic goes straight over my head. A Byrds rip off maybe.

wilson said that they got some money like the mondays and working class lads don't know what to do with sudden money and go off their trolleys whereas middle class boys know how to plan a career!
So the Roses folded over cocaine and weed.
But a good band should do all their stuff then fold or just tour the old stuff.
Otherwise they are career bands and not singing from the heart at the time and I love the roses.
I love waterfall so much.
It is like the opening of a life.
They imploded like all the best bands!

I can honestly say that 'Waterfall' is in my top ten of most hated tracks.
