The 80's had good music but most of it when unnoticed by mainstream music

Kas product, the femmes, the pixies, all started in the 80's

But noooo, ppl didn't want that stuff until the 90's, they wanted cheesy power ballads like this one.

Not specific to the alternative genre, but I've always thought a good music video is one that's in tune to the beat & pacing of the song, and whose subject matter reinforces the message behind the lyrics.

I generally like music videos that are abstract in their imagery and allow viewers to "fill in the gaps", so to speak. Since I'm still not allowed to post links or anything, look up Sag Es Jetzt by Wumpscut for an idea of what I mean. It's a fan-made video, but by far my favorite music video ever.
