I'll check that dictionary, but in the meantime I'm impressed - as is everyone else in the world - by your eloquence, obvious accomplishments and success, and the evidence of your blazingly high intelligence.

If you're on your own, it can be easy if you've got the proper funds and the ability to adapt to change. But it does come with its own share of stresses. Nothing in life is easy. I live at home with my dad now, but I would not have grown up as much as I did if I hadn't left when I was 21. I know so much more now than I did when I was 21.

you guys are lucky. must be nice to have the choice to move out. here, really nobody moves out their parents/family house unless they get married or something like that.

There's definitely a lot to be said about living on your own. Teaches you responsibility. Mind you, losing your parent will do that too. I was amazed to find that bills didn't get paid by magic, and there was a place where food had to be bought!

Obviously, that's a joke. Still, moving out, even for a year, made me knuckle down and be more responsible. When you can't turn to anyone you learn to make it work.

What is the income / rent like there though? I imagine it's much cheaper to move out in your area than it is to move out here. That's my own assumption, I don't mean disrespect. In Seattle especially, it's actually far wiser to stay in your parents place and work a full time job.

Living on your own is pretty great character building. I would've been a lot different if I didn't get kicked out of the dorms and had to pay off my own rent.

I know that it really helped me realize how important it is to have a pretty bulky savings account. There were instances where I was happy that my parents taught me the importance of that. I would've been homeless without that knowledge.

i know a lot of people that are still living at home, it just depends where you're going to school.

yeah, same here. i mean, i get a pretty sweet deal since i'm living with my friends at a condo their father bought (lol) but it's still hard to make ends meet with my student loan money. i think for most people it's necessary to get a part time job if they want to even be able to attempt moving out while going to school.

With how high the rent is in Seattle now, it's not even wise to bother with part time. You either have to get full time, or be lucky enough to know a few people you can live with. The cheapest place in the city is like...1100/mo unless you find subsidized living which is where I used to be. Even that is close to 800/mo. With me and my ex, I was able to do it. But I'd never be able to on part time.
