What fools these mortals be. That movie not only combined elements of action, war, and kung fu movies, but it did them better than 99% of other action, war, and kung fu movies. One of, if not the, greatest action movies of all time. Crank 2 is the only one I can think of that can compete with it.

These two threads are really exposing your lack of taste in all realms of pop culture. I respectfully submit that Janzsoon's mod status be revoked.

No he's not. I agree with him. You know that I have final word on these sorts of things. YOU KNOW THIS.

I was tempted to see it last night but ended up not seeing anything.

I may still go see it anyways.

It's not that it's a bad film. It just bored the absolute **** out of me. My fellow film bloggers tell me that it gets crazy by the end which made me think of "13 Assassins" so I'm going to go back and finish it this week. I was just shocked I walked out. I never ever do that.

I was bored for the first half but the second half was amazing. Hopefully this is the case with Raid 2.

Ew. That movie was just an unnecessary retread of 7 Samurai. Obviously that was intentional, but it doesn't make it any less of a boring retread. And it was just as overly long and dull as 7 Samurai to boot. It didn't even update the outdated 50's acting. People can go on about Kurosawa all they want to, but Japanese acting in the 50's was quasi-painful.

So yeah, 13 Assassins was too busy reveling in nerdy, Kurosawa fanboysim to do anything worth watching.
