Default Why All The Scrub-bashing?

Why is it that so many of the R&B 'ladies' (as they like to call themselves) sing about wanting a man who has lots of cash and a car etc, about not wanting any 'scrubs' and so on. They seem to blatantly advocate using female sexuality to get men to part with their cash. Arrogant lyrics such as 'I'll spend your cash though I have my own', 'Why should I spend my money when I can spend yours?', and 'Can you pay my bills?' (as if she shouldn't have to pay them herself). Why is there so much of this in R&B? It seems to be much more in R&B than in any other type of music.
