Default Tyler, The Creator

I feel like Tyler is both overrated and underrated. He's overrated by his fan base, but underrated by people who never heard him.

Absolutely agree. I actually liked Cherry Bomb for the most part outside of a couple horrible songs.

Definitely. I used to be totally anti-Tyler because you would walk down the school halls and see OF merchandise galore; we even had graffiti appear regularly bearing the group's title.

Come to listen to it, it's not terrible. I kinda dig it. Definitely overhyped but it's still decent music.

I'll check that dictionary, but in the meantime I'm impressed - as is everyone else in the world - by your eloquence, obvious accomplishments and success, and the evidence of your blazingly high intelligence.

One trick pony.

Though he deserves credit for introducing the world to the more talented folk standing behind him (Earl Sweatshirt, Frank Ocean).

Very true. I'm a big fan of MellowHype as well, and Domo Genisis isn't too bad either. Basically I enjoy everyone in Odd Future more than I do Tyler.

I love Odd Future and I also love Tyler. I also love Earl. I think they're all musical geniuses and represent the final wave of relevant hip hop. Tyler has a deeply profound charisma. He also has a very entertaining and wild way about him. And I know it's cliche to point out seemingly opposing charecterists held by a single artist but in Tyler's case I'm going to go ahead and say that he seems to reject traditional hip hop swagger but when he kicks it into gear his stage antics are very aggressive. And even though he explores all sorts of offensive subject matter he still strikes me as humble. It goes without saying he's extremely intelligent. He seems completely unconcerned by racism, and to his credit totally bored by any kind of moralism. I also really like his overall sound. I love Tyler the Creator!!!

I disagree on the whole one trick pony thing, I'd say he's showed enough variety throughout his short and young career that I can safely say he'll be an interesting force in music for a while to come.

He's definitely not a one-trick pony, and I'm basically in line with Machine here. Cherry Bomb was great for the most part.

^ This. I also luv his beats and how sinister his rapping delivery is.
