I know but when people say "I pick this band cuz they have the best drummer" to me it comes across as them not taking the music completely into account.

I agree it's nice to have talented musicians, but just because a band doesn't have "the best" drummer in prog doesn't mean they should be dismissed. It's not about the talent, it's what you do with...
