My mother just has seasonal depression, but it's pretty severe. She'll go through days with me having to remind her to do laundry or leave lunch money...

Unfortunately, there are mental disorders which don't really allow for rationalization to take away the desire to kill oneself. Particularly when delusions and depression are present simultaneously.

I'm not buying that. I've not known of many people at all who have committed or attempted suicide because they wanted to really teach a lesson to the people who hurt them.
