I was also underwhelmed by the Hollenthon album; overrated as hell in my book. It just pales in comparison to The Great Mass, which has overwhelmingly done the best in incorporating symphonic...

I get that, but you'd think folks would want to expand a little. With services like MOG and Spotify I don't think acquiring the records is too hard. I suppose finding the time could be another issue...

I have only listened to the one album but I have read that Mirrorthrone has improved upon his formula with each album, so Gangrene very may well be a drastic improvement from Carriers of Dust.

I throughly enjoyed both albums but for different reasons. Sure, Acid Bath might be more dynamic as the album shifts from extreme metal, to sludge, to almost post-grunge (in the best possible way) at...

I hadn't heard of Harvey Milk prior to the battle but kudos to James for tossing them into the ring, I loved what I heard. Sure Eyehategod's riffs are immense and epic, with sublime moments of blues...

Really all that needs to be said has already been said. What it boils down to, in my opinion, is that Blackwater Park has achieved classic status and The Way... has not.
