in the mars volta yes...not in RHCP...though some of their music is progressive...they really have no prog influences, except maybe david gilmour and robert fripp, they seem to have some influence on...

no not really, the first concept album was believed to be sgt peppers, after peppers the concept album has been a long celebrated tradition in prog, but many non prog artists have made concept albums...

that was just my take on it, though im not...

that was just my take on it, though im not implying that prog bands have all those characteristics, those are just common ones...bands like pink floyd and jethro tull lack some of those...

those are pyschedelic rock bands not prog bands, though they do have progressive elements in their music for sure, but theres a slight difference between bands who make progressive music and true...

this is a very interesting forum, but most of the artists mentioned here are popular modern artists, which sparks my curiousity...any prog fans out there?...my favorites are pink floyd, yes, jethro...
