Wow, didn't expect to see this thread bumped again! I'm familiar with most of the bands you mentioned, but you've reminded me that I should really check out Cream one of these days.

The only thing I've heard by Nilsson is his cover of You Can't Do That, which was pretty cool.

I've heard of almost all of the older groups you mentioned, but I've never really listened to them, with the exceptions...
