I've done that, but the problem was that Spotify - despite me changing settings both inside Spotify and changing startup programs with msconfig - the damn thing would still re-insert itself randomly....

I'm not currently using Spotify anymore. The desktop version was messing with my system on startup, where in it kept re-inserting itself.
And the browser version had problems with the DRM plugin it...
