She lays there, so calm
My fingers in her hair
Ages pass, and so we lay
For hours.
For days.
I remember when times were good
And life was in what we were
We would go out
To places.
And do things.
And I could look upon her face
In her eyes and
See beauty! captured there
I thought.
But times have changed
And ages passed
And now, when I look
Her face is still there
Yet hidden.
Amongst the eaves of her hair
Beyond all reach, beyond my sight
A life unseen.
