Her heavily doctored album was released to quite a lot of buzz and she's riding the media attention she's been getting ever since. From live performances it's pretty obvious she's quite talentless and from the style of music it's very obvious she has about as much to do with blues as the colour pink.
ty ty ty I can't agree more!

her backup singers have more talent than here......and the band that plays for her.....everyone around her is talented and she constantly drops the ball when performing live

^ Her debut album 'Frank' (platinum sales) was released in 2003...to much critical acclaim, especially in Jazz circles (hence the reason the thread is in here) and included an Ivor Novello award for 'Stronger Than Me' in 2004.

^ Even funnier...

Singing 'Teach Me Tonight' cover, by the great Dinah Washington.
Astounding performance, especially for a young 22 year old.

Still way below par imo...looked like she couldn't give a toss.
It'll be a big shame if she blows her talent.
Interesting to see what direction her next album goes in too...if she lives long enough.

Edit:I just listened to that all the way through...are you tone deaf Wayfarer?

Raw and effortless and a perfect example of her vocal style.

I've never come across anyone seriously denying her talent...just questioning the level of inspiration in the music.

I guess musically more than anything else. I've frequently come across people claiming the music is generally innocuous, derivative and unremarkable.

Which is not my view btw, I can't claim to have any fixed opinions on her at present other than that she has a great voice and general musical talent.
