Default Sade

I think most people should have heard of her by now so I'll skip the intro. She has a new single out, Soldier of love, which I absolutely love. You can check out the vid here Pitchfork: TV The album's out some time next month, I'm pretty excited about it.

Any thoughts?

Yeah I heard it for the first time yesterday. Her vocals are as smooth as ever and she's a huge guilty pleasure of mine but unsure about the track. I liked it but found it a little monotonous. Still looks as beautiful as ever and I will certainly check the album out.

Paradise, Your Love Is King, Nothing Can Come Between Us, Never As Good As The First Time, The Sweetest Taboo, No Ordinary Love........etc. ( A touch of class...is.... SADE..) She always reminded me of Jody Watley (Late 80s) who...is a little more ',Funk' than (as to say) Sade is....sexy, seductive, romantic,....candle light, ..etc.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2KVgZVH0kmQ

She could eat crackers in my bed.

I'd make her clean them up later, but, you know...

I haven't heard the new album yet but I grew up listening to her, my parents saw her when my mom was pregnant with me.

Sade has been mentioned many times on MB with little response. I'm just sad that once again an artist has to become popular with a decent write up on a review site to be talked about again.

what? sure there are plenty of "known" bands that get talked about on this site...but i have noticed a huge amount of bands that are even less known than someone like sade.

but now i feel bad about it. i did grab a couple of her albums a while back but have yet to listen to them. i will check them out now...and...well...continue the discussion...

Sade plays a commercial Soul/funk hybrid that rarely gets attention on these boards, it's not like she plays an underground niche sound and most on here don't listen to that sound, whereas a band with a more original sound may get talked about more and are enjoyed by other members.

If a member has ever mentioned a long standing artist like Sade the response is virtually nil and it seems that a sound has to re -enter the mainstream to once again be liked when her music was good enough in the first place without the hype but people didnt want to see or hear that and that is what is frustrating.
