Henry Cow - Living in the Heart of the Beast (Avant-Prog/RIO)

I decided to suggest a track from their 1975. album 'In Praise of Learning' because it was a collaboration with Slapp Happy and with Dagmar Krause singing. Although it was released as Henry Cow, you kinda have two in one, two bands that defined Rock In Opposition.

Dead Can Dance - In Power We Entrust The Love Advocated (Ethereal)

It was really hard for me to decide which song to choose. I decided to go for earlier one, because then they didn't have so strong ethno, medieval and new age influences. That's why this song represents that original Ethereal Wave. I guess this could be tagged as Dark Wave too. So, what does everybody think? Should there be two sub-genres, Ethereal and Dark Wave, or just one?

New Romantic- The Art Of Parties (Japan)
Funk- If There's A Hell Below We're All Gonna Go (Curtis Mayfield)
Folk Rock- It's Alright Ma I'm Only Bleeding (Bob Dylan)
Dance-Pop I Feel For You(Chaka Khan), specifically her version
Alternative Hip Hop- Check The Rhyme ( A Tribe Called Quest)
Garage Rock- Louie Louie (The Kingsmen)

Great suggestions everybody. Going to add these over the next few minutes. One thing I've noticed however. Please check to see if the genre you'd like to submit to has been taken. You can still suggest a different song, but state your reasons why you think it'd be better. And if at least one person sincerely backs you up, with no major disagreements between sides, it'll be changed. Thanks everybody, this is all coming together so nicely!

My only concern with this project as a whole is people picking things that are a part of the genre but not necessarily the most accurate to describing the genre as a whole, of course everyone has different ideas about this so voting is really the only way to go. For the example of noise rock, sure The Jesus Lizard are quite know as a noise rock band but in comparison to bands that embrace noise a lot more (e.g. AIDS Wolf, Mindflayer, Arab on Radar) The Jesus Lizard are more so a 'noisey rock band', which may be a bit misleading to those getting their first taste of the genre (point of the comp, is it not?).

Just some thoughts. Again, a lot of that boils down to personal opinion.

I mean it is noise POP and noise ROCK and not just "noise." Maybe those bands should get their own "noise" genre?

In fact, I wonder if "indie surfer rock" almost deserves its own genre at this point, considering the ridiculousness of the The Beach Boys not representing surf rock?
