I think FB is good AND bad.
Any social network is good when it comes to being able to stay in contact with family and friends. I don't have much family here and a lot of my old friends moved away so FB has reconnected me with my old buddies and with my family.
The bad part is when people get too consumed by it, to the point where they shut everyone out in their life and just sit there all day playing games and talking to strangers....nothing wrong with talking to people but when it starts to take over your life and you stop having a REAL social life outside of your home, it's a serious problem. Everyone needs to have friends and go out and have a life, not live in their home on the net, and neglect their kids because they are playing Farmville.
