James - That's a horribly crap situation. I'd definitely say the first course of action would be to try and reason with your mother, as that would possibly allow you to keep the security of the home you know.
If that can't happen, really, go live with your dad. Unless he's a horrible person, a fresh start could be fine and fun. Having to make new friends in a new place may sound like a terrifying possibility, but as a person who moved around a lot her entire childhood, I'll have to say that it's oddly invigorating - even for someone who's fairly shy.
Being homeless is no good, man. I lived out of a car for a period of time, and it's not something anyone wants to willingly do.
