On a website called "Listverse", I found one of those rather meaningless lists, " Greatest Jazz Musicians Of All Time" :

So far the combined forces of MB have only chosen the three musicians in bold from the list. ( Congrats to ThePhantastasio and Skaligojurah )

I`m going off-list as well, as one of my favorite albums is by Don Cherry. Though knowledgeable people say that he was a limited player, he was something of a pioneer in directing his jazz sensibilities back towards Africa and other parts of the globe, and this track, Degi-Degi is one of the results :
