I don't know. I think Zappa should be credited a bit. Maybe not a genius, but he's definitely intelligent and influential. He predicted a lot of what has happened to the music industry today. Not to mention he was one of the first to use a lot of experimentation with rock, and also helped create/influence genres of his own.
