The band their guys diverged out of is slightly more fathomable, but ultimately they're just a weak band. Nothing interesting going on in the brass, when their guitars attempt distortion it sounds awful, and semi-great/semi-terrible lyrics... Though I will admit the bassist is usually on point, and "A Better Place, A Better Time" is a good song. I love when people call what they do even remotely 'punk' - this spits in nobody's face, changes virtually no opinions whatsoever, and has never once made me think about anything. EVER.
They're better than bands like Reel Big Fish, though.
