Default Skrewdriver

When Skrewdriver went political in the 1980s, they were swimming against the current. Punk was in a bad way; Leftism had become the standard political current, and Pinkos weren't just allowed in the scene, they were prominent. Intellectual degeneration had set in to such an extreme degree that Crass were considered intelligent.

But where bands like Crass got it wrong, Skrewdriver was right. They not only correctly diagnosed Communism as an evil ideology, one which resulted in nearly 100 million deaths in the 20th century alone, but they also saw that it was at an end point. And right they were; the Berlin wall came down. The Vietnamese started manufacturing Nikes. Even Raul Castro has admitted that planned economics is a failure.

Then there's the palliative from the 70s, multiculturalism. Throughout the 80s and 90s the world was inundated with nonsense regarding cultural relativism. Not only was no culture better than any other, but it was immoral for a nation to ask that immigrants adopt the culture of the nation they've moved to. Whether it be 9/11, Theo Van Gogh's assassination, the riots, murders and attempted assassination regarding a comic strip, or the blood on the streets in Teheran - this God of the Left has surely failed.

The Anarchist & Socialist dreams of the Hippie Punks have been consigned to the dustbin of history. History has proven these bands who were praised for being intelligent were idiotic. They have been shown to be the apologists for an ideology that has killed more than any other.

Perhaps what's most relevant to Skrewdrivers message is their stance against welfare leeches. Once again, Ian was right; the only thing those scumbags do is bleed the nation dry.

So, as the world's largest nation is getting set to kick Obama & the Lefties out, I say let's toast Skrewdriver - may we get a Government that'd make Ian Donaldson proud in 2012.
