Today I was doing some time travel by listening to songs by the British New Wave synthpop group Naked Eyes.

I always associate the dreary, melancholy mood of many of their songs with the empty feeling of an old European city late at night when the streets are wet and mostly empty...possibly because during my "Naked Eyes" phase I lived in an old European city where I used to walk along the wet and mostly empty streets late at night.

Naked Eyes - "Always Something There to Remind Me"
This is my favorite of the duo's songs. I love the bell sound. I didn't realize until today that it is a cover of Burt Bacharach/Hal David!

Naked Eyes - "Voices in my head"
There is something thin and eerie about this song that reminds me of turbulant teenage times.

Naked Eyes - "Could Be"
A nicely depressing song.
