It had too take influence from somewhere. A lot of roots reggae has deep soul roots even if they are not immediately evident.

Alton Ellis, Blues Busters to name just a couple were massively influenced by soul and It's a shame that you are not a big fan.

I remember u posting a while back about your lack of love for Soul music which is understandable but Soul permeates even today in the various genres of Reggae and the dirty skank of Toots or Burning Spear uses the rough edges of soul as a part of their music.

Soul music is not always sweet harmonies and love songs. Maybe a few soul albums need to be sent your way
