To be honest, Paddy's Day is basically a drinking fest in pretty much every country that celebrates it. Not exactly the most Christian celebration anymore... In ireland, I guess it's a day to be proud to be irish, not like we aren't every other day of the year :P Religion barely makes an appearance at all.
