leet speak... it's more of a 13 year old AOL brat thing than a "hacker" thing. The only reason the two are often interchangable is because those who use it will often scream "Hax!" any time someone beats them at something. Anyone actually proficient at hacking would most likely use normal, proper standard English (or whatever language it is they speak).
